Made in Cuba by Cuban parents and born in Puerto Rico, Jorge Luis identifies as an Afro-Cuban Rican or an Afro-Cubano Riqueño!

Jorge Luis Abreu brings depth, humor and heart to every role! 

He is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. After several years of performing professionally in Washington DC area theatres, he earned his Actor's Equity card and headed back to NYC. After living in the city for a few years and having done a variety of show cases and musical theater tours in Europe and the US, he came to the conclusion that although he loved performing on stage, Television is what he wanted to do the most.

 

Fortunately, during this time he met and briefly worked with then up-and-coming actor by the name of John Leguizamo, who would later cast him as a series regular in the very first all-Latino sketch comedy television show, "House of Buggin' " on Fox starring Mr. Leguizamo himself. This short-lived but groundbreaking series then paved the way for work on Television and Film.  A seasoned performer with a youthful spark, Jorge embodies the rare combination of effortless sophistication, gentle intelligent humor, emotional and spiritual grounding, and magnetic likability.
 

This has enabled him to him work opposite the likes of: Al Pacino, John Lithgow, Noah Wyle, Tyne Daly, Tony Shalhoub, Larry David, John Leguizamo and Miley Cyrus to name a few.
